Greece regularly reports hate crime data to ODIHR. Greece's Criminal Code contains a general penalty-enhancement provision for hate crimes. The Ministry of Justice, Transparency and Human Rights, the Public Prosecutor's Office and the State Security headquarters of the Greek Police collect hate crime data.

The Hellenic Police with the co-operation of Ministry of Justice, Transparency and Human Rights and the Prosecutor's Office of the Court of First Instance of Athens developed a new template to ease tracking of hate crime cases progressing through the criminal justice system.
In her "Report on the visit to Greece", the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe reiterated previous recommendations for the authorities to enhance implementation of existing anti-hate crime law, to collect and analyse hate crime data in a more systematic manner and to raise public awareness of hate crime.
ODIHR observes that Greece has not reported on cases of hate crimes separately from cases of hate speech.
